Hm... I think I have re-written this part already 10 times. Not that I am doubting who I am. But writing about yourself without getting into this boring loophole like 'Hello, my name is Sira and I was born in...' is hard! But oke, let's get the standard boring stuff out of our way first.
My life up till I was 28th in a nutshell
My name is Sira van Zanten and I am born at May 1, 1986 (yes: at Labour Day my mother got into labor) in the Netherlands. As soon as I started my Bachelor Management, Economics and Law, I moved into my own appartement in Amsterdam. I did 6 months abroad for internship (read: partying at Aruba) and graduated within the 4 years. So that made me 22 when I started working. I had no clue what to do so I did some serious jobhopping the first years. Until I was about to turn 26, I found a job that suited me perfectly: Project manager at an online marketing agency. It was great. In the mean time I had bought an appartement in Amsterdam, a car and enjoyed working fulltime.
Then it started to itch
At the end of 2014 it started to itch. I wanted to get out, just for some months. See some other stuff, get out of the working loophole. After I decided to do so, I ended up quitting my job and selling my appartement to make all this possible. I bought an old van together with my boyfriend Dimitris and at the end of spring 2015 off we went. I expected the itch would go away after some months traveling and I would go back to Amsterdam. Maybe start working at my old job again or find something new as a project manager. But that did not happen... I did not want to go back to working 5 days at the office. To get into traffic everyday to the office, run back home to do your shopping, maybe go for a run in the dark, cook, eat, sleep and repeat. And on Saturday having the time to do something 'fun'. Together with everyone else in Amsterdam... No, it is to busy and to much of a rush. I didn't have the feeling of being alive if I had to do that again.
I decided not to go back...
So that is when I (and Dimitris agreed :P) decided not to go back. But well, let's get real: we still needed some money. Dimitris started to work remotely as a programmer so I had the time to figure out a remote income as well. Which is a little less easy in my line of profession. But to cut a long story short: we are now hopping from house to house. We need something like a desk and wifi and we are figuring out where we want to live and enjoy our time. We stay for some weeks or months in a place (most of them we find through Airbnb or we do housesitting) and enjoy the nature. So in the end, that is what you will find on my blog! Sorry for the uber long introduction...
